February 1, 2005 the new spay/neuter ordinance went into effect in Buncombe County. Pet owners are now required to spay or neuter all animals or face a $100 permit fee. The Humane Alliance offers a low-cost option for spay/neuter. This is a very important move towards reducing pet overpopulation. Check out the article in AC-T for more info.
