Amy Ferguson's Acceptance Speech
Wow, you guys, this is so cool - I mean, Co-Playmate of the Month, what an honor, this is right up there with Greenies. I have so many pets & People I feel I should thank that I hardly know where to start.
I guess first I'd like to thank my nine littermates for keeping me warm and teaching me how to muzzle, nip, yap and play with the best of 'em. I'll never forget you guys... wait, SQUIRREL!!! (15 minutes later) So hey, what was I saying?
Oh yeah, thanks to all the great people working with the Animal Compassion Network. You guys rescued me from that stinky flea market and helped me find a good, loving home with lots of food, toys and soft things to sleep & chew on.
I guess I ought to thank my human - she's pretty nice and she feeds me, walks me around, throws my red ball for me and other good stuff. But Mom, don't for a second think I've forgotten that whole "potty training" thing just yet, sheesh....
Shout out to my pup-peeps at Sparky's, you guys totally crack me up. Hey, remember that one time when we all hid in the new boat, then jumped up and started barking at Jessica? Or that other time when we rolled and rolled and rolled around until we got so dizzy that we just kinda fell over panting for a real long time? What a riot - you guys are the best playmates a girl could ask for. Poppy, I love you, man. Really, there's nothing I wouldn't sniff, chew or bark at for each and every one of you, and I mean that sincerely.
But mostly I want to thank my human friends at SParky's. You guys are so cool you're like naps in a sunspot, stinky dead things and treats all rolled into one. You watch over me and keep me safe while I get to run & play and have fun the whole day long. You're my favorite people, and you work hard to make such a great space for me and my dog friends to come and play. So thank you for being my people pals, you help make the world a nicer place. And meat, of course - meat helps make the world a nicer place, too...
Amy's speech was interpreted by Janet Ferguson, her human mom, through a series of whines, woofs, barks and perhaps a little digging too - into something a little easier for the people to understand.
